Sushi Kappou KITAOHJI, which opened in Phrom Phong, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Bangkok, will cater to the needs of wealthier segments of Thai as well as Japanese-affiliated businesses.
Its open kitchen counter serves as the stage for sushi chefs to exhibit their expert skills in “washoku,” or traditional Japanese food.
The theme of its space design is centered on the reproduction of architectural styles from Genroku culture during the Edo period. Its finishing materials make abundant use of traditional Japanese techniques that include: latticed ceiling accentuated by boarded grids of squared logs; “Bamboo and Plum Tree” painting by famous Japanese painter Ogata Korin; crafted karakami paper on which uniquely Japanese family crest is printed; and traditional, gold leaf and lacquer-painted Japanese paper. In addition, its art display featuring calligraphy works by Japanese calligraphy artists, Bizen ware and other artworks adds to its calm and serene atmosphere.
The beauty of traditional Japanese architecture, in synthesis with traditional craftsmanship in diverse forms and modern taste, has created a rich, attractive space as a manifestation of Japanese culture. This sets the stage for global deployment of operations.
